You can transform oppression into opportunity.
You can do this as just as you are. Where you are: here in your own community.
The event will feature a screening of Half the Sky, a documentary that introduces women and girls from around the globe who are fighting bravely to change their lives and communities for the better.
Our craftacular is almost full; however, we are still accepting applications from vendors. We invite local artisans, crafters, and social enterprises to market their Mother’s Day gift ideas – a portion of all the proceeds will support projects that empower women to live free from violence and economic insecurity.
“Half the Sky is about turning oppression into opportunity. Change isn’t just a possibility, it’s happening right here in our community!” Allie Grey, Resource Centre Faciliatator for the Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society.
When: 11am to 3pm, Saturday May 4th, 2013
Where: Okanagan College 1000 KLO Rd Kelowna BC
