Volunteers needed!

We need your help! We are currently looking for community ambassadors, volunteers to help out with our upcoming Take Back the Night and other future events as well as in house volunteers who are willing to donate their time working in our safe centre.

Community Ambassadors:

Empowerific community ambassadors are the face and voice of EFry in our community. As an ambassador you can raise awareness and funds to support the EFry safe center and their services. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of women & children, here are some of the ways community ambassadors can contribute:

  • Create & organize fundraising events
  • Support & promote empowerific initiatives
  • Recruit other community ambassadors, volunteers, and donors

Event volunteers:

Event volunteers help make our Empowerific events possible! We are looking for individuals who are outgoing and love to be a part of making things happen. As an event volunteer, there are many ways to get involved:

  • Help with event planning and promotion
  • Help set-up
  • Run an activity, help with registration, or help coordinate activities on the day of an event
  • Shoot photography and/or video
  • Help clean up, take down, and pack up after an event is over

If you have any specific skills that you would like to donate towards one of our events, we would love to hear about it! Maybe you are a photographer, musician/performer, or you have previous event management experience. We welcome and appreciate the generous donation of your time, and we like to make things fun so if this sounds right up your alley, get in touch with us!

In-house volunteers:

Our in office volunteers help the EFry safe centre run smoothly and allow our counsellors and advocates to focus on service delivery to clients. We need people who are compassionate, organized, and reliable. Professionalism is important as you will be dealing face to face with clients and staff. In-house volunteers help with administrative duties including answering phones and filing paperwork, but they also help us set up for group therapy sessions and act as a friendly face to anyone who comes in to our office. Applicants for these positions are required to go through a screening process including an initial interview and subsequent background check.

    I have photography, computer and office/bookkeeping skills. I’d like to volunteer in some way.
